Spat Back #4

Spat Back #4 zineThis is the forth issue of Emma’s mini zine or shall I say the “starting 2006″ issue? This one is different than the previous issues. It is a “to do” list for 2006. Things like watching less tv, start a band and travel; put together in Emma’s special way, with cute drawings and short texts. It is a very nice little reading. I personal believe that new year resolutions rarely work but it is actually a good way to put new goals in your life. And by the end of the year if you have actually succeeded even few of them, it’s a success.

Blue! Do you trust that I do not want to see you die here tonight?

Blue, Do you trust that I do not want to see you die here tonightThis is a hardcore / straight edge zine, coming from the UK but not in the form of a music zine: interviews, reviews etc. This is more writing about HC and sXe, sometimes serious and sometimes funny. It has some guides on putting out records, touring and feeding bands and more, many writings on sXe, some of them are extremely funny plus some criticism on the hardcore scene putted in a very funny way. In every corner you will find jokes on hardcore kids plus some hilarious drawings (Christian hardcore and more). There is also an article about the non existent punk scene in the Middle East (based on the authors travel there), a funny as fuck piece on why Ray Cappo is better that Jesus Christ and many more writings. This is a very interesting read; even if you’re not into hardcore this is very enjoyable mainly because of the way it is written. To be precise, although it’s a hardcore related zine, it doesn’t seem to be taken too serious by its author, which is a good thing in by opinion. Agitate #6

Agitate zine #6Chris has been making zines forever. You know why? Because he’s good at it. And although I haven’t read any zines of his for about 8 years, I feel like I’m holding an issue of Aversion again. Great crusty, anarcho-punk zine. You will find articles on Punk and Desorden Collective, Cardiff Anarchist Network, Black Bloc and ID cards. Also interviews of Ruin and Extinction of Mankind and a lot of reviews of albums and zines. Anonymous AUDACITY #1

Anonymous AUDACITY #1Two girls squatters from Manchester released this fabulous and moving zine. They’ve put some anarchism, feminism, direct action, squatting and living issues and mixed it all pretty well. You will find some personal stories and confessions, a letter to a neighbor living next door to their squat, experiences on living in a community of a squatted building, a piece on alternatives to commercial sanitary products, two vegan recipes and other nice stuff. The layout is pretty nice as well; half typed, half handwritten (a bit tough to read some times because of the handwritten pieces, but if you preserve you’ll make it). They don’t have an address right now cause I think they have been evicted, but I hope they’ll soon find a new place to stay. You can ask for it at blackandwhitecatpress@hotmail.com

Sapilla #5

Sapilla zine #5Another issue of this amazing comic. Full of love, hope, childishness, emotions, colors (although most of it is in black and white), faith. Socially aware, funny and touching. Many creators with different styles. One of the best of its kind. You can also find art of the person mainly responsible for it in many other greek zines and cds. They have a new website up, check it out:

Menace #5

Menace #5 zineThis is one big story, a part of the author’s life, separated in chapters. It’s about him moving from one place to the other, places he stayed, people he met, bands he started, efforts to tour, hitchhiking, getting drunk and other punk stuff. This is a very bizarre way of writing, reflecting his life. Try to reach at: B. Menac / 37 Mulberry st / Ashevilee NC 29104 / USA
